How far behind are we in the UK?

We had a 'brand new episode' on the other night. I don't know how long ago it aired in the USA so this may have been done to death already, but it was utter garbage. It was the one where the church is saved by sponsorship and Lisa becomes a buddist. Now as someone who celebrated getting their drivers liscence by getting a big Homer tatoo (punching the air and shouting Woo-Hoo!) I feel justified in calling myself a true fan but even I can see the show should have been cancelled a long time ago. Its heart-breaking to see it suffering like this.

You certainly are a true fan! Love the Simpsons tattoo idea. One of Burns grinning with his hands together and saying "Excellent!" would also be nice; or Comic Book Guy saying "Worst Tattoo Ever!" or ......

Being a UK resident myself I think this aired in the US around December 2001.

On Tue, 12 Feb 2002, Link stated this considered view. Waking from my doze, I hastily scrawled -

I didn't think it was that bad actually.

As to the question in the thread title - 4 episodes I believe.

In my native land, Moronica, we just got TV three years ago. Last night I saw the episode where Homer brings home the dog on Christmas eve. How far behind are we here in Moronica?

BTW, my country is run by three dictators who look like your Three Stooges.

I, on behalf of all Americans on this board, would like to express my gratitude (and utter amazement) that in response to the question, "How far behind are we in the UK?", no one posted, "In terms of dental hygiene, 117 years," or somesuch. It's this kind of international understanding and civility that gives this crusty reporter some hope that one day, all nationalities, races, creeds, and colors (colours!) will live together in peace. I'm Bart Simpson.

In terms of dental hygiene? Try 11 centuries!

But don't feel bad. The US is way behind Australia and Canada when it comes to having beautiful women! How come all the gorgeous, tall Playboy centerfolds are from Canada, and all the gorgeous supermodels are from Australia?

Oh dear lord! You must wear glasses like Millhouse, "What's good as new, who's talking?" The hottest chicks in the world are from the good, old USA. I admit, there are many hot women from Canada and many beautiful models from Australia, but just walk down the street in LA, NYC, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago...any major city and you will see more gorgeous, model quality women per square foot than anywhere else on the planet. Canada and Australia export all their beautiful women as models, we marry them. Sincerely, Little Girl
