The interesting thing about this movie is that is spawned a TV show of which I was a huge fan in the early 1980's. Flo was my favorite character with Vera a close second. Well kiss my grits!

Off Topic: Does anyone here have a copy of tonight's KOTH? I kinda missed it due to being "snowed in" in middle Tennessee.

Notes: -Hmmm the way I pictured Nelson's mom, I would not see her as a hooters waitress. -I liked Nelson in the top hat. -Homer said crabapple back in the episode where Bart was bad and could not see the I&S movie. -Apu and Manjula were married 11/16/97, or at least that's when the episode aired. Would have been funny if they shown this episode in November or 03. -Hmmm Nadia Comenici (sp) was a hottie back them and she is a hottie now. -Nasty on the cat cooking in the Asian restaurant I&S episode. Tasteless. And also I thought that joke was a little lame. I did like the MSG though because it reminded me of the episode where Homer was a Clown and got that MSG at the beginning. -Was that Surly Joe giving advice to Homer? -Milhouse bleached his eyebrows. One of his friends looked kinda like Ali G too. -Lisa would not wash a car like that because it would waste more water than a car wash and would let harmful chemicals into the environment. She is too Eco friendly to do that! -Kinky outfit on Marge. Nice for Valentines Day also. -Funny Xerox code-147. That is a cute little one because it just goes along one line of numbers. -Did Nelson lose his other air rifle? The bird killing one? Maybe he had to hawk it for food since he is so poor.

Review: While I think it is a little out of nature at this point in the show's run to have Bart having an attachment to Milhouse (that plotline was used in over 10 years ago), a character that has not really been in any meaningful shows in several years, I did think that Bart and Lisa's dynamic was refreshing. Homer's subplot as the bum for hire was cute too, if only because a couple of years ago that would have been an entire episode. I did not really like the whole Jerrerson's thing at the end as that felt like something that would happen in a Family Guy episode. Still, there were some cute moments that made the episode worth seeing again. Grade B

Yeah, what I thought would be an hour and a half drive to Chattanooga turned out to be a 3.5 hour drive. It was a pretty view going through the hills, though. Just not a particularly safe view in many places.

It was a reference to that's being established in Season Nine's "Bart Star."

It's also what the real Semour Skinner calls her in "The Principal and the Pauper." The producers have said that it's a running joke that no one ever catches on to the way her name would be pronounced phonetically.

Hmmmm that is a correct point (which I totally forgot), but in my mind I was thinking of the Jailbird ("Marge in Chains") and the cough syrup addict with the unrecognizable fresh breath. Maybe he has a couple of moms as he has had at least three different dads in the shows run. Also, I am not trying to be mean here, but a woman that produced something as ugly as Nelson could probably not get a job at Hooters. :-)

Nelson's family isn't kept all that consistent, but didn't he have the same dad in "Brother From the Same Planet" and "Bart Starr"? I assume he abandoned Nelson after the latter episode, since he's been gone for "years" as of the Pre-Teen Braves episode. (I forget the title of that one.)

Furthermore, this Simpsons ep appears as a testing ground for the future theater released movie. If you notice the many slick shots, (i.e. the moving head lights acrosss the house/Marge), and the artwork involving light and shadow. "I, (Annoyed Grunt) Bot" also had some original artwork, yet different from this "Milhouse Doesn't..." ep. This is why, IMO, they might be testing out animation programs/techniques for the movie and trying them out on some tv eps. In "Milhouse Doesn't Live Here Anymore" there is a more "spacial" feel than Simpsons eps of recent years where the rhythm is rapid fire, many jokes being fit into the 1/2 hour. This Milhouse ep had a slower pace; characteristic of full length animated movies.

You're supposed to watch the Simpsons for the laughs, as it is a comedy. I like the new style brought up by Al Jean but if you want cuteness for the sake of it watch the Carebears or something.
