Recently I watched 7F08 "Dead Putting Society" and I noticed an interesting reference for the first time. When Lisa talks to Bart about mini golf and zen budhism she says "When a tree falls in the forest, does it make any sound if there is no one to hear it?" which is a very old philosophical question but also raises some other questions such as "Can a universe exist if there is no one and no conscious mind to observe it?" and "Can an observation process create reality?" which are of course main principles of quantum mechanics. A very thought-provoking reference, especially for a student of advanced physics like me. Ah, those were the days of glory for the show.

Is that the same show all you "Lighten Up" posters call a simple hilarious cartoon and sitcom?

P.S. Woo-hoo. Weï¿½ll have "Summer of 4 Ft 2" tomorrow on TV. Best episode past season 3.

As for me, being a former Nuclear Power Plant employee with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, I appreciate everything that Homer does at the snpp. But I was appalled at Lisa's perpetual motion machine! It was a bunch of linkages and flywheels! How did she get it to work with all the friction and the glaven, ha-hey!
