Billy West could probably do a good homer simpson, and katey segal would be an interesting marge. Of course, this means kent brockman will be replaced by morbo.

Nah,,John DiMaggio (bender) would be better off playing Moe,,and i always thought of fry as a younger version of homer (lazy, couch potato, bumbling but means well)

But the chances are there'd be a fair few characters that just couldn't be done quite right without Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer, who seem to do so many. I think it'd really grate if we had a voice that was totally different, or even not quite right.

well, that would be impossible to measure. i'd say anyone who'd seen an episode with maude's original, normal voice, would easily notice the awful, overstated, poorly accented, stick-out-like-a-sore-thumb one she used up until her death. her new voice was, for some reason, at 80% the speed of the voices of every other character, like she was stuck in some terrifying time warp!
and no, of course it doesn't matter a rat's, but it still gelled poorly.

In any event, once The Simpsons cease production someday, FOX is most likely going to do other shows with this formula. There is obviously an audience for this type of series and I wouldn't be suprised if they already have something right now in major development for when The Simpsons end.

(Use old audio of original actors to get through this very first 2 minutes.) Homer is giving a tour of the plant and is showing his family a chamber, (that, without Homer's knowledge, has some kind of radioactive material in it). They all come out glowing green and with different voices. (Voiced by new voice actors.) There voices changed as a result of being exposed to something. They start to say how their voices have changed, but then just shrug it off. The rest of the series goes on with the new voice actors from then on.
