Another note for KABF22 (Lisa the Drama Queen)

I wonder if the family bursting into the empty restaurant (where they think Lisa is), staged in this particular way, is a reference to Silence of the Lambs. A lot of tension is built when an FBI SWAT team goes to an empty red-herring house (while Clarice finds the right one simultaneously).

I saw SOTL once about 6 years ago and then again a month or so ago - then caught Sunday's third airing of this episode, when it finally clicked. A basic audience fakeout is one thing, but again, it was done in such a way that I think it was specific to this movie.

It's a possibility. If they ("The Simpsons") really wanted to sell it, they should have worked in the ringing of the door bell somehow.
