thoughts on tonight's simpsons

I can't believe I actually saw a show where the producers apologize at the end of it. At least the apology was deserved. yech.

This isn't the first time this show has done such a thing. At first it seemed like it was just mocking people like the ones on this newsgroup (including myself) who think the show has "jumped the shark," but now that they've done it so many times, I'm starting to believe that they actually know the show sucks now and they think they can get away with it by apologizing and making fun of themselves.

i respect your opinion but i don't agree at all. they know the show sucks? i've rewatched all of seasons 10 - 13 so that i've seen every episode about 4 times each (yes i'm a geek but that's not the point) and the fact is this is something a lot of people are working really hard on - still to this day - and IMO they deserve every ounce of credit. and if you don't think they deserve credit, withdraw gracefully and give them credit (as a whole - i know a lot of diff people have worked on the show over the years) for the years you enjoyed. i love seasons 10-13. i love 1-9 too, not "more" or "less" but in a different way. my opinion after watching the episodes again and again to familiarize myself with them is that it's still such a quality show. yeah, the humor's changed, and the plots are a little weak, but the characters (except for some isolated acts in several episodes) are still strong and i still love their interactions. it's still a great show. not the same show, but still really good.
