Hmm, dunno about this, but I almost instantly related Frink's position as a whistleblower to Russel Crowes character in The Insider. Anyone else pick that up?

spoken by someone not old enough to remember, or at least know the immense significance of, Deep Throat from the Watergate scandals. The original whistle blower/informant. Of course that gag was played out by Smithers in a parking lot.

I think the episode reference is closer to the Insider however because of the addictive substance/evil company making money off of addiction parallel.
