THE SIMPSONS EPISODE IDEAS CONTEST
I'm running a competition this summer. Simpsons fans will submit a set of their ideas for episodes to me. I will periodically post all the ideas that are submitted, along with the author. At the end of the contest, each list of ideas will be judged and a winner will be selected. His idea will then be submitted, via an a.t.s. regular who happens to have an agent and volunteers to do so, to the writers of the Simpsons. (OK, the last part probably won't happen. It's nice to dream though.)
The intention of this contest is to feul some creative energy and fun in a.t.s., to show our ideas on how the show can be better, and, most importantly, to prove to the fans how hard it is to come up with ideas after 12 seasons.

Rules/Guidelines 1) You must submit at least 13 episode ideas and no more than 24 episode ideas. (Respectively, the least and most number of episodes ever produced per season.) 2) One of your episodes must be a Treehouse of Horror with 3 segments. 3) To submit your ideas, email them to me at either [email] or [email]. Don't just post on this thread, or I might not find it. 4) The contest ends on July 31, 2001. Results will be posted a few days later. 5) Sideshow Bob episodes and sequels to episodes that have already aired are welcome and encouraged. 6) At the minimum, each episode idea must contain a plot synopsis indicating the setup and conflict. But you may also include an episode title, people who will guest star, and wthe writer on the staff (old or new) who would write the episode. 7) Episode ideas are judges based on the following criteria: variety (between wacky and real episodes), distribution of episodes based on each Simpson (for example, a list with too many Homer episodes is bad), believability, whether it's original or has already been done, creativity. Basically, I'm looking for a list of episodes that seem to be most promising of new, classic episodes. 8) If you want to be a judge, send me an email indivcating that you wish to do so, and you will get to join in the judging of episode ideas. But you can't be a judge if you've already submitted a list of episode ideas.
