The Incredible Shrinking Simpsons

Last week and this week, the last section of the show was in a small rectangle in the middle of the screen, i.e. large black borders on all four sides, aka "windowboxing." It was almost like watching TV through a keyhole. Both nights, this only happened after the last commercial break.

This was on WTTG channel 5 in DC. And only on the past two episodes.

Did anyone else see this on WTTG or any other station?

Yes, I know that some remotes have an embiggen button. Mine doesn't. Whatever is broadcast is what I get.

Also, ever since they went to wide-screen, the picture has been infested with jaggies -- annoying stairstep artifacts on all lines that are almost but not quite perfectly vertical or horizontal. Hasn't anyone at Fox heard of anti-aliasing?

Are you watching the show on a calculator?

This is probably the doing of your cable company, not the Fox affiliate.

What cable company? As I said, this was on WTTG channel 5 in DC. I've never had cable.

I want to see what's on the other broadcasts. Where's the oscillator on this thing?

This happened on February 14 and 21. It didn't happen on March 14 or 21, but then it happened again this week, March 29. Once again, only after the final commercial break. It's very annoying.

Has anyone else wexperienced this? Thanks.
