Does anyone find themselves...

using obscure lines from the show in everyday life? I think I say 'We don't need your hate crimes here, narc' at least twice a week. Its obvious not many people get it, but it doesn't matter, I can't stop saying it. Also, every now and again (usually on July 4) I recite Nelson's flag speech. (So burn the flag if you must...) I cant' even begin to count the times I've said 'Sweet liquor, eases the pain.' I'm bored and was just wondering what kind of lines others use regularly.

That's not normal: normal is coming home to find your mother nailed to a cross screaming verses from the book of Mormon, your dad performing a dark ritual with your brother as the sacrifice, and your sister getting railed by a goat.

Hmm. Me? Of course, there's the regular "D'oh!" and "Whoo-hoo!" Sometimes I'll groan like Marge. There's Barney's 'We were just messin' around, but you had to go _too far_.' That's all I can think of at the moment.

The one I forgot to put in was 'Hot dog, I think we've got a wiener!' from those radio idiots. Every time I say that, people look at me like I'm retarded or something.

Well, it's become impossible to supress the Annoyed Grunts ("D'Oh"), and I tend to use "Mmmm....[insert object of desire here]" on more occasions than I like to admit. "Excellent", Burns style is also a regular. The funny thing is that my girlfriend has an involuntary Marge groan and snicker - and when she's complaining that I don't listen to what she's saying, out it comes: "Thanks, I'd love an omelet right about now..."

That's all that comes to mind right now, really...

I don't know if you've actually said "Thanks, I'd love an omelet right now" to someone you're not paying attention to, but I can tell you from experience that they really hate that.

I quote The Simpsons pretty regularly. Unfortunately, people always look at me like I'm an idiot because I get really obscure. I eventually just started saying, "That reminds me of one time on The Simpsons..." unless I'm around people that realize I constantly quote the show.

The only quote I use regularly is "Yoink!" Usually, it's whatever quote comes to mind based on the conversation.

TamaraDavid Sibley

I use "Yoink!" quite a bit. Also noted are "D'oh", the "I Am So Smart..." song, and sometimes I hum the weiner song, mostly while I am cooking. Which sounds wierd, being a woman.... "My wiener has a first name...it's H-O-M-E-R...." - it's just a catchy tune.

Homer's line: "To alcohol! The cause of--and solution to--all of life's problems!" is one I use alot...also, Mr. Burns: Quit congitating Stienmetz, and use an open-faced club! A sand wedge! Homer: Mmmmmm...open-facedclub sandwich...(drooling sounds)...I use that one alot while golfing...

Its very hard to see how you could shoe-horn that into a conversation even once, let alone alot. Do you recite both characters lines or are you doing a routine with someone else?

~ Tony ~Tom Hawley

think a second...when might I use the alcohol line? at the bar, perhaps? n what does it matter if I say both parts of the sand wedge line?

I wouldn't dare say theres anything wrong with it, but i'm enjoying the mental image. I see three people on a green (although it doesn't fit the line), you're on one side, the other two are side by side the other side of the flag. You're reciting a line from the Simpsons while they stare blankly at you and their watches wishing you'd hit the ball so they could finally go for a beer.

I'm sure its nothing like that though.

~ Tony ~Tom Hawley

first off, its a "sand trap-only" quote...n all my friends I go golfing with are also Simpsons fans, so there are no "blank stares"...with the way WE play, there are plenty of opportunities to use said quote...I dont expect to be earning my PGA Tour card anytime soon...sorry to ruin your "mental image"...

Anywho, I was telling someone that I had to leave class early today and she said she did too...they asked why...I said we had to go to the OB-GYN (I was really going to a job interview, she just wanted to leave)...then I mentioned that Rachel had fallen down and I fell too and there may or may not have been penetration...

Then one of my friends was going to be like, "I'm going to throw up, I hate that word..."

And I was like "You mean penetrada?"

And she was like..."Ugh...stop..."

And of course, I was like..."You cannot escape the penetrada"...
