Well, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. This was easily the best THOH in years, which bodes well for Season 16, because this used to be one of Jean's biggest problem areas. The animation was absolutely beautiful, thanks to David Silverman. Anyways, Keepin' It Kodos was an hilarious way to start off, following last year's role for them in the beginning, instead of tacked on at the end. The Ned Zone was far and away the best segment, and will certainly go down as a classic THOH vignette. It had me in stitches the whole way through, and actually had an interesting characterization of Ned too, grabbing it an A. Four Beheadings and a Funeral wasn't quite as good, but it's great use of characters (and great character design) and plot that keeps the viewer at least mildly interested, along with sufficient humor gets it a B. Finally, In the Belly of the Boss was slightly disappointing, with a Homer that was a bit too wacky at times, and a few poor jokes. But the rest of the gags more than make up for it, so that it's not a total disaster, or even a mild one. ItBotB gets a B-, putting the total score for THOHXV at 8.5/10. (B+)

"Fantastic Voyage" is a movie in which a scientist with knowledge of how to shrink people for extended periods of time is nearly assassinated. In order to save his life, a surgical team is shrunken down in a submarine to microscopic proportions to be inserted into his body in order to access his brain and remove a life threatening blood clot. And (of course), they have one hour to get in and out before his natural defenses attack the crew and ends the voyage.
Perhaps the most notorious serial killer of all time, the very mention of Jack the Ripper still sends a chill up the spine of even the bravest of men. Though his deeds were mild by today's standards, Jack's wave of murders that claimed the lives of five prostitutes in 18th Century London earned him a legacy as one of histories most feared figures. His manner of killing involved prowling through the night in dark, fog filled alleys, attacking any hapless harlot who happened to wander by, slashing her with his trademark long knife, quickly and quietly, only to sink back into the shadows once through. Though investigators narrowed the list of suspects down to three likely perpetrators, to this day, no one has uncovered the true identity of the man behind the murders. The dark and chilling tale of Jack's reign of terror has gone down as history's first "whodunnit", and the mystique of the mysterious man will forever overshadow the fact that he was basically just some guy who killed five hookers.
Move over Rod Serling, THOH's ripping off a different zone this year: Stephen King's "The Dead Zone". In "Dead Zone", a teacher (played by Christopher Walken in the movie) is put into a five-year coma after a nasty car wreck. When he wakes up he finds that he has the ability to see a person's future upon physical contact, leading local police to set him to work on a murder case. But the visions he sees aren't all sunshine and lollypops, and soon they become too much to handle.
A.C. Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels detail the adventures of consultive detective Holmes and his faithful (and easily impressed) sidekick, John H. Watson, M.D., as they solve a series of crimes in the streets of London, England, from their headquarters at 221b Baker Street. Homles first appeared in Doyle's "A Study in Scarlet", and continued on to star in 56 canon short stories and 4 novels.

Kodos [pointing at Homer]: This one keeps eating himself! (Homer takes a few cannibalistic bites out of his own flesh. Cut to Frink laughing maniacally and pulling a lever.) Announcer: When a mad scientist shrinks Maggie and traps her inside Mr. Burns� (Scenes are shown of Maggie playing in a giant pill that looks like a ball pit, the pill getting shrunk down, Burns swallowing the pill and Maggie playing inside the pill inside Burns' stomach. Cut to a scene of Frink and OFF standing by Burns who lies on an operating table. Homer sticks his arm down Monty's throat.) Homer: I've got her! (He pulls out an organ from Burns' body) Homer: No, wait. This is yours. (He tosses it back in. Cut to OFF in their flight suits being shrunk down.) Announcer: �The Simpsons take a fantastic voyage inside the belly of the boss! (Scenes of Frink injecting mini-OFF into Burns' neck, OFF speeding through his bloodstream and Burns lying on the table are shown. Burns' belly enlarges and an explosion is heard. Cut to Frink holding up a flight suit.) Frink: Can you fit into a large flight suit? Homer: No! It'll show my boobs and ride my crack! (sobs) Announcer: Sunday, November 7th, the Simpsons Tree House of Horror is all-new. And it's only on FOX!
