Star India strikes again!

Last night, they showed the "138th Episode Spectacular." Not only did they screw up the placement of commercials -- they put them after the answers to the trivia questions instead of between the question and the answer -- but they cut the closing credits in their entirety. Speaking of "syndication cuts" (which they normally don't make). I guess all that hard-core nudity was too much for the Indian viewing public -- although, interestingly enough, they did *not* cut the Hindi curses from the "Homer and Apu" "outtake."

Go figure.

What language do they show it in then? The other language voice actors make the show half as good.

The last time I visited India was 1998, and they were showing them in English. The one episode I saw there was the one with Stampy, and I remember seeing footage that I didn't see in syndication here in America. Does Star typically air the episodes uncut? ________________________________________________________________

Even though there are alot of English speakers in almost all countries, I don't think they'd make cuts for them.....

"Star India" basically spends its time showing old American TV shows (in English) and advertising "all new episodes" of shows that were cancelled five years ago. They also made a big deal about the Series Finale of "The Pretender" without warning you that it ends on a cliffhanger with none of the threads resolved.

They also have a lot of advertising from the Vi Ar Shopping Network.

That's the weird part -- they show the episodes without the syndication cuts, and then they perform these occasional random acts of censorship. I say "random" because they left in the Hindi curses -- which their audience presumably would understand. And they always *advertise* "Roswell" (which I've never seen) as if it's soft-core porn.
