Watched Homer vs. The Eighteenth Amendment tonight and I laughed when I heard this. But I didn't see it mentioned as a pseudo dirty joke on snpp. Surely it's not just my dirty mind at work, or was it The Simpsons pushing the censors?

Say it again, but with a silent "L"...

Never thought of that one before either! Ha!

If you're redoing your bathroom tiles in New England, the salesman at the local Home Depot will offer you some "caulk". Regional accents make some things more funny.

Don't get me started on Norfolk, Va.

Ahhhhhhh...I wasn't thinking about it that way, I was trying to imagine some joke based on the substance itself.

Weird, I never thought that was the joke, but whatever! I guess if you got joy out of it, that's all that matters ;P

ALewis525Laura

HEY! I never said I got joy out of it...I just said it was the joke. ;-)

Guys laugh at witty humor. Guys laugh at stupid stuff. We laugh at anything that possibly sounds dirty. We laugh at a lot of stuff. Sometimes we don't even know why.

Maybe that's why so many women discover lesbianism at a later age.

Heh, heh....lesbianism!(Damn! Did it again!)

No problem here...

Hmmm...in this particular instance I would have gone with "Enjoy your death trap ladies" allowing for someone else to follow up with the line you gave. Or, better yet, start with "Wait a minute...there's something bothering me about this place" allowing someone to follow up with "I know! This lesbian bar doesn't have a fire exit" an so on.

See it's like a game of volleyball...which is why I call it a "quote volley"...you have to start with a line that allows for the most possible people to provide the most possible quotes in return, thus keeping the "ball" in the air as long as possible. The point of this is to annoy as much as possible all of the people who think such things are pointless and hate when we do it.

Huh, I completely missed the reference. I usually recognize quotes right away...perhaps just out of context or perhaps i need to watch more Simpsons.

She's a girl.

And for you guys who aren't too familiar with girls: they are more sensative then us. I would've said they're also softer than us, but I've seen how doughy most of us geeks are.

Perhaps you missed the reference...

http://www.snpp.com/episodes/2F08.html

The next bar Homer tries has two female zodiacal symbols interlocking on the sign above the door.

Homer: Wait a minute...there's something bothering me about this place.
[looks around] I know! This lesbian bar doesn't have a fire
exit. Enjoy your death trap, ladies. [leaves]

Oh, come on, that's a great line from an equally great episode... Certainly worthy of more than the tag of "dull".
