Notes for LABF17 (The Devil Wears Nada)

Hmm. Based on the title I was expecting more controversy over Marge's pictures, and not just the act 1 leadup to get sex on her brain the rest of the episode. I know the Marge/Homer marriage plot has been done to death and the overworked-husband thing (+having a hard time saying no to the boss in that vein) is a standard corny sitcom idea, but considering Homer is rarely this competent at his job it is a little rare here. So it was still kind of fun. I did like the slight parallels to 1F07 (The Last Temptation of Homer), though where's the Barry White? I also liked the way Homer got out of the Carl situation. So... not amazing, but not bad.

OPENING NOTES R to L: Homer in balloon chair (was that in LABF12?) Ralph surprised noise, Barney burp, Stu "oomp!" again (they haven't been changing)

DYN: ...the blackboard sort of fits in with the episode? ...Carl now has a previously unknown first name (to be C. Carl Carlson)? ...Marge says "dammit" and "Flanderseses"?

Note Incidentally, just 8 days ago, someone I know was doing a similar type of photo shoot. Turned out well. Not going on a calendar though.

There have been lots of those not quite nude nude calendars in recent years, to raise money for some charity. I gather they suggest more than they really offer, yet I imagine for the women doing it, it can be quite exciting. Not only are they actually naked for the photographer, but the daring of doing it, of showing themselves to the public (even if tastefully covered up) is likely the basis of Marge's excitement for the rest of the episode. And of course, Homer would be too tired at this point.

One interesting thing I've yet to see people mention (not that it's really been very long), when Homer is back at the Springfield Airport, Millhouse's parents and Principal and Mrs. Skinner are there too, looking over the luggage. Since we didn't hear about them going on a trip, it almost looked like they were doing it for recreation, watching the luggage pass by, or maybe intending to pick out a suitcase and run with it.
