Episode, "Principal and the Pauper"

This whole episode was lousy! I mean, Mrs Skinner surely would've known that Armin was not her Son, wouldn't she? Wouldn't a mother know what her Son looked like?

well that was the whole point, she did realise that armin wasnt actually her son but she knew that her son was dead (or at least thought he was) and so to be comforted she pretended that armin was

however i do agree the episode was crap and incredibly far fetched

i'd never hated that episode as much as other people seem to. i mean, i don't like it that much, but i'd take it over the tennis episode or the japan or brazil episodes. but that seems to be a minority opinion.

they showed Behind the Laughter here last night, though, and even there that episode gets ragged on as being particularly far fetched. And it's not more far fetched then some of the other episodes (homer & barney in NASA, say, or whacking day (since when does springfield have snakes?)). It's just not funny enough to make up for the implausibility.

anyway, i'm not trying to defend that episode, because i think that it's one of many episodes that aren't up to the standards set in the first seasons. i just have never understood why that one seems to get everyone's wrath.
