I think it's terrible that the Simpsons uses cartoon characters to stimulate cheap laughs with the audience. It's extremely painful for those of us that actually used to be cartoon characters, as I once was.
Also, how can they find humor in the family? I grew up in a family, and we never achieved the continuous level of hilarity that the Simpsons household maintains. That also causes me pain.

If you don't like the simpsons anymore, then don't watch them. A very simple solution... I love the show just the way it is, and I wouldn't like it any other way....
