Was that 'Popeye' scene in the original airing? ISTR reading that the first airing was a short episode so they could fit in a "Star Wars" preview, and don't recall the Popeye scene. I recall the Viagra joke, since I remember being offended by it the first time.

No, the original scene was a spoof of the scene in Jerry Maguire; Homer flips out on everyone at the power plant, quits and starts his own power plant.

The scene I'm discussing is one where Grampa Simpson is in the car with his new love and makes a Viagra joke (he's waiting for the Viagra to kick in, and sucks his dentures while waiting). Once the Viagra kicks in, the Popeye theme plays, with one of Grampa's hairs standing on end. I found the whole scene tasteless, but don't remember any of the stuff between the Viagra reference and Grampa's arriving home the next morning being in the original airing.

Homer is nowhere to be seen in this scene; nor does the power plant have anything to do with it.
