how come they never show the april fools episode where bart shakes up homers beer?

Depends where you live - it was on in UK not that long ago. If you're in the big paranoid expanse between Canada and Mexico, the networks are probably scared to show it because little Timmy in Wisconsin might copy.

They play it here (southern Ontario) fairly regularly on the half dozen or so channels that carry the Simpsons. The episode that *does* get lost a lot is the Flaming Moe episode. I've only seen that show three times, but others from that season are well into the double digits. While at university, I'd watch three or four shows a day during the week and two each on Sat and Sun - that's nearly twenty episodes a week or eighty a month. The Flaming Moe episode never aired in that span (and that'd be five different channels to choose from). Ah, that was the life...
