Columbia House Simpsons DVD club

You know how Columbia House has those DVD clubs for specific titles like Twilight Zone and The Powerpuff Girls? Well in some new "literature" from them today I saw where they are now offering a Simpsons DVD (and VHS, if you still like that non-random access stuff) club. You'll get 4 eps per disc, in order of release, but what I'm wondering is a) why do this at all with the season by season box sets, b) will there be any new bonus features or will the discs be strictly bare-bones, and c) will they manage to release eps on DVD more rapidly than the season box sets?

Any thoughts from the group?

If Columbia House charges US$20 per disc, I don't think it'll be worth it, as the box sets would be cheaper. If they offered later seasons before the box sets, then it would be okay, but with season 1 on the stands and season 2 coming up, I don't see any reason to participate in the club, especially if bells and whistles aren't included.

I had joined the "All in the Family" DVD club from Columbia House a while back. Each disc had 4 episodes and cost $25. Plus there was no real Bonus Material. Then I saw Columbia/Tristar was releasing the whole first season for about $30. Still... no Bonus Material. But a heckuva lot cheaper. I do believe Columbia House is a rip off.
