Marge Vs. the Monorail

I noticed in the episode that the "Springfield monorail" emblem flies off and the 1964 worlds fair emblem is underneath. The 1964 worlds fair monorail is still in operation with a proven safe and reliable trackrecord. Why did the writers do that?

Unless it was moved elsewhere, there is no monorail operating at the site of the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing, Queens. Nothing there but the old fashioned trains like the LIRR and the #7 train.

Yeah! And while we're on the topic, why did the writers have Clinton say "I'm a pretty lousy President"? Or how about the time the writers made fun of New Yorkers? Let's not forget the time they poked fun at the 1964 World's Fair Monorail...

TV shows that make fun of other things in a humorous manner should be banned forever. There's just no room or need for that sort of thing in society today.

The only World's Fair monorail that's still running (in this country, anyway) is the one from the 1960 World's Fair in Seattle.
