Come on everybody. Stop pretending your not geeks and admit whats your favourate phrase you like to use that you have blatently stole or adapted from the simpsons?

My Personal top 3 in reverse order are

3.Putting a "Ma" in the middle of words like Sophista-ma-cataed or Hoba-ma-bo. as used by homer alot 2.Cromulent, I think thats spelt correctly. 1. Son of a Dididly.............flanders best line ever.

did the Simpsons coin that phrase? I thought that had been around since before 1989...

Weebil28Barry Christie

"I said MEH. M-E-H, MEH." and also i do occasionally add the extra "ma" syllable to my words.

I use homers saying 'thats the spirit' when ever someone says they are going to do something.

I cant quite tell if that was a joke or not but im going to point out that "thats the spirit" is definetly not a homer phrase.......its a general phrase. If It was a joke and your gonna comeback with a sarcy comment then screw you, it wasn't very funny anyway.

Burns: "...and this must be your son, Brat."

Bart: "Bart."

Homer: "Don't correct the man, Brat."

It's a Homer phrase if you use it sarcastically and condescendingly, as in:

Homer: "Here's your giraffe, little girl." Ralph: "I'm a boy!" Homer: "That's the spirit. Never give up."

I now use "cromulent" in ordinary conversation, but there are two Homerisms I use even more.

"Kiss my hairy, yellow butt!"

and

"SWEET MERCIFUL CRAP!"

It's alarming how many opportunities I have to use both.

Oops! Thought of two more....

Frink's "Would you listen to the gibberish they have you saying; it's sad and alarming!"

And Homer's "Why won't you be Art?" (Would still love a wav of that one!)

Wrong usage of the word "your." Should be "you're" in that context.

It works in practice too, but only if it's voluntary. Yeah, I know, it was just a quote.

iggy17renBarry Christie

Dammit there is an obvious preference on this group to use "quote" for your "phrase".

Anyway, here are two of my favorite quotes:

"I mean, half those bottles weren't even mine"

"Some days we don't let the line move at all. We call those weekdays"

Baskedytiggy17ren

Without doubt...

CBG: "Oh, loneliness and cheeseburgers are a dangerous mix."

MorticiaBarry Christie

There are a few, in no particular order:

"Why...must I fail...at every...attempt...at...masonry?!?!"

"Your pro-mop, anti-horse agenda has been clear for some time."

"The satisfaction of helping another human being is all the thanks I et-cetera."

Nelson's "ha ha"

If we're talkin' phrases that we use in everyday vernacular... a personal fave is to end a completely unrelated story with: "..and that's why we had Chinese food for lunch".

Weebil28Casey Atkins

They've been talking about the NYC episode so much that i remembered how much i loved the whole "ewww mountain dew" conversation.

Whenever I realize I've made a mistake I say, in Frink's voice : "Oh right, I forgot to carry the 1."
