As I recall, the episode "Trash of the Titans" was the 200th episode. That was several seasons ago. Have they reached (or exceeded) 300 episodes yet? If so, which episode was the 300th?

tonight's was 293 if i'm counting correctly. 300 is coming up with a bunch of guest stars, blink 182 and tony hawk (and possibly others).

Yes, almost 300. Now roughly a third of the show's episodes are subpar. That percentage was a lot smaller at the 200 mark.

They are not subpar compared to the rest of tv...they are subpar compared to the rest of the simpsons episodes...thats a VERY important distinction and I think that more simpsons critics should remember that...

Yeah, but what if a person doesn't watch the rest of what's on tv? Then they have nothing to compare the Simpsons to except former episodes of The Simpsons.

Besides, the rest of tv isn't necessarily all bad. Look at Spongebob Squarepants, The Power Puff Girls, South Park and (even though I don't care for it) Futurama. Plus new episodes of Ren and Stimpy are in production.
