Weakest First Season Episode?

There are some I haven't seen in a long time, but off the top of my head, I think it's "The Telltale Head." I just find it corny. Even at age 10, I find it hard to believe Jimbo et. al. would be upset by a statue's head being cut off. And Bart's lines throughout the episode, especially the "Forgive me sir" as he's putting Jebediah's head back on, are just so lame. From beginning to end, the episode feels more like a "Leave it to Beaver" episode than a "Simpsons" episode. There are several weak episodes during that first season, but this one just might take the cake.

Meh. Instances of sappiness like that occur all throughout the first few seasons. Amazingly, lots of Simpsons fans yearn for things like episodes ending with Homer and Marge bicycling into the sunset, I personally don't get it.

"Life on the Fast Lane" is my least favorite season 1 episode, BTW. Soap-operatic and hardly funny at all.
