Whoa I just bought my first season DVD and it rocks. Well I didn't know that it isn't even getting released until saturday :). I got it from the flea market (where I happen to work at, hint, hint) and the guy was kind of quiet about it, i didn't know why :)
Anyways it owns and you should all buy 3 copies just in case. The unaired version of some enchanted evening is so horrific I can't believe it.
I do not have a DVD player. I always told myself, if I was to buy the episodes, I was going to buy them all at once. When I get a DVD player maybe in like 5 months, will I be able to do this?
No, they have only just released the First Season of The Simpsons, and judging by Fox's X-Files DVD release schedule (1 Season every 6 months), the full catalog of The Simpsons won't be out for a long time. But I would suggest getting a DVD player immediately, as DVD kicks VHS's ass in every way.

What is it about people on NewsGroups that makes them love to tell others that they're "doing wrong"? Nowhere did The Rack say he/she was going to sell copies of the DVD's. I see this all the time not only on AFS but any band site, eBay's site. Everybody is such a goody two shoes when they sit behind their computer monitors and type. And, the funny thing is... we all copy stuff... and worse!
This guy calls another an asshole because he's putting Simpsons episodes copied from TV onto DVD. I guess if you stick with lower quality VHS, you're ok.

It's possible that's true. But, I didn't flame Gilbert in return. IMO he followed the example of others and tried to contribute. I think he misunderstood what I was doing. I'm not selling DVDs or even tapes. In fact, if someone has a real jones for some uncut eps on tape or DVD, I'll make them a free copy of what I have. That's how I completed my collection. Even having all episodes uncut on tape, I STILL bought all the VHS sets and the new DVD set. The quality is much better, and the life of the DVDs make them an excellent investment.
If sharing a copy of broadcast quality (read "TV tape quality") TV is illegal, I guess I'm an asshole. Maybe my announcing it is what makes me an asshole. Eh. He has a wife, I got a rash. Who cares?
