What follows is a transcription of the deleted scenes from "The Front" (9F16) that appear on the "Complete Fourth Season" DVD, and where in the episode they would have originally been, based on the deleted scene option on the DVD.
1. After Myers says "Here's a witty rejoinder for ya!" and hits Harvard man in the head with his nameplate:
Secretary: Shall I send the usual rejection letter? Myers: Nah, they're just kids. I better do it myself. (Secretary sits down and begins writing as Myers dictates) "Dear Bart and Lisa. When I hire an employee, I like to think that he can go potty on his own. In my opinion, you kids don't know..." (Cut to Bart and Lisa sitting on Bart's bed, reading the letter) Lisa: I know this word, but what's "Shinola?"
2. After Barney says "It fell in the toilet," would most likely replace line that begins "Marge, I have my pride..."
(Dondelinger takes trophies away from Homer) Homer: Marge, I can't live with this shame anymore. I don't care what it takes. I'm going to overcome this. It'll be like that movie. You know, where that woman skiier fell off the mountain? I think it was called "Don't Fall Off The Mountain." Marge: What's your point? Homer (standing up): I am going to ski! I mean, graduate from high school!
3. Would most likely begin "Democrats were in power/Queen of the Old West" conversation:
(Bart, Grampa and Lisa are sitting on the couch) Lisa: Then we put your name on the script and sent it in. Grampa: So *that's* why they were so nice down at "Ritchie and Cathy!" Bart: "Itchy and Scratchy." Grampa: Who now?
- After repeating background gag:
(Various animators are crowded around a table with drawing pads, watching a cat and mouse) Myers: To make "Itchy and Scratchy" as authentic as possible, our animators study real cats and mice. (One animator pulls a stick of dynamite out of his pocket, puts in in the cat's mouth, and lights it) Lisa: Is that real dynamite? Myers: No! (closes door) (As Myers, Bart, and Lisa begin to walk away, we hear an explosion, followed by a cat's yell. The door falls off and smoke pours out of the room. Bart and Lisa run away.)
- After cartoon "Screams from a Mall:"
(At the I&S studios, Lisa operates a typewriter as Bart watches on.) Grampa: Now, for my next script, I want wall-to-wall belly laughs, a little tug at the heartstrings, and end it with a real yok! Bart: Pipe down! We're trying to write! Grampa: I'll just sit in the corner and play with my teeth. Lisa: Play quietly.
6. After Al Jeansesque character says "I'm gonna write that sitcom about the sassy robot:"
(Backstage, Grampa sadly walks holding his trophy) Myers: You're fired! Grampa: Oh yeah? Well, I don't need your stinkin' money! (Feebly) Can I have a nickel for the trolley?
