NFL begins today (and so do my frumblings)

I still do not understand why Fox keeps the cartoons on Sunday evenings. I think that they lose revenue by not being able to show the shows when most of the time Futurama and KOTH and even in tonight's case the Simpsons gets sent to "in progress" or cut altogether.

Why dont they move the shows to Thursday evening against Friends and send them to their grave with bad ratings like they did with Cosby? Of course, the Cosby kids did not age as well as the Friends cast has, so maybe this would be a better dual (asp since the Simpsons characters with the exception of Homer's age do not age at all).

Since they love showing that 70's show (5 minutes of Dialog, 18 minutes of laugh track), they should just air that show after the football games. Or 4 full hours of Malcolm in the Middle.

Well, I am sure that I will get some new Futurama by December (here is hoping at least), so Fox can show their precious football games (I am not that much of an anti-falcons fan this year, but I would rather see new episodes of Simpsons, KOTH, and Futurama than them going to the Super Bowl). Actually, only if the Falcons going to the super bowl means that they get mentioned by Moe as their favorite team would that make it worth it. Still a great Simpsons reference because only Moe could cheer for a loser like they have been over the last 30 years.

This is almost certainly "Friends" last season, no matter what the competition airs, so there's no gain by what you propose. In fact, "Friends" fans are more likely to stick to the show now, since they'll be wrapping up all their major story arcs.

Furthermore, the people who aren't watching "Friends" are probably tuning in "Survivor" on CBS. I doubt any of Fox's cartoons will be stealing much audience from those two shows.

I suppose that I am just looking for some sort of way that I can watch my shows in their entirety (last year, Anthology of Interest 2 was ran in progress more than halfway through the show, but I guess Fox would not do that to the Simpsons) without yelling at the Bears or whoever "Take a Knee! Stay in Bounds! No Run, don't throw the Ball!" when the game has 2 minutes left at 6:57pm EST, which always seems to be the case.

I have at least learned the rules of Pro Football... There is something I can take to the bank. I dont root for a team. I root for the game to end!

It is very strenuous to say the least, and I hate being heartbroken when the game ends on time yet the commentators stay on for 30 minutes talking about the games. Even though Fox may get more money from football Americana than from Futurama, they still paid for the show and it seems strange to me that they do not want to show it sometime in the week. Fortunately, in January, I think it will be appearing on Cartoon Network on Sunday nights (unless Turner decides to start showing cartoon football on Sundays to compete with the NFL).

Yes you are right about Thur. night because I forgot that a new season of Survivor is coming on soon. Would not be economically prudent.
