To all posters of a.t.s,

Having browsed through some of the recent posts, I have noticed many spelling and grammar errors.

Tested the top 3 that you listed. They suck compared to OE. 40tude was the closest. I like to have my newsgroup selection totally collapsed into the menubar like I have it in IE and I don't want to double click to read a topic.

Sticking to OE. 40tude should open source, I wouldn't mind working on it.

Dictionary.com does not just make up definitions. However, referring to a book as a "grammar" is obviously quite unusual as most people haven't heard of it. (Myself included.) Dictionary.com actually quotes many different dictionaries, and then lists the source of each definition. The definition you're doubting came from The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language. (Fourth Edition)

Anyway, it's common for a troll to look up obscure words or word uses just so he can make himself look smart. (And make others look silly when they tell him he's wrong.)

"Grammar", used in it's correct tense, is a set of rules on how one writes correctly.

You can't have "a" grammar.. It isn't an object.

And by the way, it isn't netiquette (particularly in a.t.s) to have perfect grammar in newsgroups. So long as we know what the person means :)

Sure you can; any dictionary will tell you that "a grammar" is a book describing the grammar of a particular language.

Yes, that was a mistake. Perhaps taught badly on how to use apostrophes? I don't know. What I do know is that is the only example of bad grammar you will see me use: I have been trained (quite badly) to use 's automatically unless it is a plural. Not my fault.

This is a run-on sentence and improperly punctuated. Independent clauses MUST be separated by a period or semi-colon or, if they are connected by a conjunction, a comma. The correct form would be:
