New years: Only episode is Trouble with Trillions, hence I go with that.

Valentine's Day: I Love Lisa

St. Patrick's day: Homer vs. the 18th Ammendment, but again for obvious reasons....

April Fools Day: The first clip show, for again obvious reasons (though I suppose Simpsons safari could be considered an april fools episode)

Halloween: THOH V

Thanksgiving: Bart vs. Thanksgiving (other episodes refer to it, but judging by the quality of those I still wouldn't want to list them if this one didn't exsist)

Christmas: Marge Be Not Proud, with honorable mention to Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.

there was a TOH segment once centered around the Y2K bug, it was funny. "Wonders Lisa, or blunders?"

You guys are right about the Y2K thing...I'd forgotten. Personally, though, I rather hated that sketch (THOH X was in generally very poor IMO), so I'd say Trouble with Trillions is still better. Its very flawed, but there's enough good gags to sustain it, and the last minute tax stuff in the first act had some good satire.

Christmas - skinners sense of snow. i just love the fact that all the kids show up on the last day before vacation and during a snow storm! and the homer pennant switch scene - a classic
