REVIEW: B (well, B-plus if you enjoy Al Franken books) - the start with the whole T-shirt thing was good, and they worked it into Homer finding his mother well, but it pretty much fell apart during the whole "Homer does things with his mother" bit, and since the ending was obvious, it was hard to get into the scenes leading up to it.

(If you ask me, her middle name should be Lisa - "Mona Lisa Simpson", geddit?; they could have also claimed Lisa is named after her) ...Lisa is wearing her pearls with something non-formal besides her red dress? ...there's an "El Barto" tag on the overpass? (How did Bart get it there?) ...one of the electronic signs says "Drive Friendly"? (Texas highways have similar signs, albeit not electronic) ...the Springfield Shopper is part of the "liberal media"?
GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT The scene with the two athletes raising their fists is taken from the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. USA athletes Tommy Smith and John Carlos, gold and bronze medalists in the 200 meters, raised arms with their hands in black gloves (they split a pair, which is why one raises his left arm and the other his right) as "The Star-Spangled Banner" was played, as a symbol of black unity. (They were also barefoot, symbolizing black poverty, and bowed their heads, as they felt the anthem applied to "white America".) The IOC, over the protests of the USOC, had Smith and Carlos banned from the rest of the Olympics.
The "Peace Talks Break Down" article has actual words the first time, but then becomes gibberish; the "Giant Taco" article, on the other hand, has actual words in its first column and gibberish in its second.
The word "state" in "Secretary of State" should be capitalized in the peace talks article, but isn't; on the other hand, the word "talks" in "peace talks" should be in lower case, but it is capitalized twice.
The wood carving couldn't be from the 19th Century, as it shows Burns as an adult.
Mona's jump from the car would have been visible to Homer, especially with her orange prison suit.
Where did Mona get her "old" clothes back, for the last scene?
