Are the DVDs of The Simpsons 1st and 2nd seasons the "sydicated version". Or are they uncut? In "Deep Space Homer", on of the funniest scenes was cut for syndication. It was a spoof of Star Trek's The Gamesters of Triskelion where Barney and Homer square off and a voice says; "I bid 10 quatlues for the newcommers."

well what i read was that on the season two episode bart the daredevil they cut off one of the greatest simpsons parts involving homer falling down the cliff and the ambulance to get a PG rating. however this isnt confirmed, i just read it in a review and also it think this might just be the english one "Dave DeWolfe" wrote in message news:[email]...

Except for "The Telltale Head", for which the original broadcast was a slightly different edit. The DVD version is based on the subsequent broadcast version, which was also the basis for the syndication version.
Incorrect. The second fall occurred in the original broadcast, but the shot remained on the ambulance at the top of the cliff, rather than re- using the footage of Homer bouncing off the ledges on the way down.

there was a discussion about this a while ago... and people pointed out what others have said here, that you don't see the fall in the original episode. I thought I rememberd seeing the fall, but it was a while ago...
Anyway, the one thing that surprised me after reading that whole discussion on ATS and watching the version of the DVD, was when Behind The Laughter was on on syndication. I don't have the exact quote here, but Homer referred to that fall as a classic moment, or something like that.

And the Call of the Simpsons scenes weren't in the original broadcast either. In fact, while they may be true deleted scenes, I'm honestly a little sketchy about whether or not they were just legend.

I just saw this episode in syndication last night and although they show Homer falling down the cliff the first time, after the ambulance hits the tree they just show a little of him yelling "d'oh" as the kids look over the cliff as he falls the second time. Pretty weak, hopefully the DVD doesn't cut out the good stuff.
