Revisionist History...

Okay, so it all started when the producers of The Simpsons pulled "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson." from syndication.... Then Spin City, shortened their skyline scene transition shots, and deleted those with the WTC... The producers of Friends, say they will not acknowledge that WTC ever existed... Law and Order SVU, has deleted the WTC from its opening sequence... The producers of Spiderman have recalled their trailer for the movie which had the WTC prominently displayed, and have pulled the poster (which barely showed the WTC)... The NY Mets have darkened the part of their scoreboard where the WTC was emblazoned...

These are just a few examples of how the Twin Towers, One and Two World Trade Center are being deleted from history...

It is as if, George Orwell himself has come back from the dead and proclaimed that the World Trade Center is double-ungood, and needs to be deleted....

Deleting history does not make things easier. It does not make anything hurt less, and it sure as hell doesn't make any sense.

I will miss that Simpson's episode. The musical number about the Betty Ford clinic was one of my favorites. However, since this episode made significant references to the Twin Towers and its just a cartoon for gosh sake, I can support this decision.

I would not support that existing movies or shows with the Twin Towers as part of the New York skyline be reedited.

However, the other shows you have mentioned are shows that are about currently being shot or will be shot in the future. Obviously the Twin Towers are gone and it makes no sense that they would use old stock footage that shows them still there.

Not every TV show needs to address this issue. I don't think a single episode of Friends or Law & Order ever talked about the WTC when it was there, why is it necessary to have a "Special Episode" that shows yet another New York cast having to deal with this tragedy.

The NY Mets (my favorite baseball squadron) put one of those red, white & blue ribbons over the WTC on the scoreboard. I think it was a nice move.

I do agree however that expunging it from our history is unnecessary. We want to remember what happened after all.

Partially...I don't think the producers have nothing to do with it...the syndication company pulled it from syndication.
