last truly strong season?

while subsequent seasons had some bright moments, i'd say season 6 was the last consistently strong one. anyone agree?

Definately season 7 was the last "A" quality season because it contained the 'whole package' of entertainment of being funny AND empathatic at the same time. By the time Season 9 aired, the show was only about jokes and used the popularity of the characters to hide behind weak writing.

i stopped at 6 because 7 contained such duds(imo) as King Size Homer and Homerpalooza. don't get me wrong, i still plan to buy and enjoy every dvd set, but watching 5 recently reminds me how much the quality has fallen in recent years...
