IIRC correctly, the woman in question is Xuxa (pronounced Shoo-Sha), who actually broke the international barrier by having a syndicated show here in the US in the early 1990's. There was some talk of a sex scandal that ended her career here.

Not a problem, though you probably will be flamed for asking something that gets asked pretty much weekly, and has almost earned a place in the FAQ. The guy is supposed to be Frank Nelson, who played similar characters in shows such as "I Love Lucy", "The Jack Benny Program", and even did the voice for "The Flintstones".
