Millhouse in Marge Vs SSCCATAG

Hi,

Anyone else notice millhouses face go really wierd and melty when they change the 'R' in the toys r us sign? Anyone know what the heck that was about? was it supposed to be a reference to something?

If its already been talked about here please point me to the right post.

(You gotta admit - that was WIERD, and i get just about every simsons joke the animate).

Another thing, i've noticed that of ater series the lipsynch is so good you can not only tell there's been a post-production re-write but you can even tell what they said - cool! Sometimes i think the original lines are funnier, but, whaddayagonnadoo.

It was discussed briefly in the thread "Re: Notes for FABF03 (Marge vs Singles, Seniors,...CCAT,AG)". I posted that "they definitely lingered on it too long and too closely to be a throwaway; there must be a movie closeup scene that inspired it."

It still nags at me, but I haven't figured it out.

WHOA CJF! awesome recall - the last time i saw that was about 10 years ago at school... I thought it looked very disturbing and as scott said - they lingered on it for the right length of time for a reference.

Very astute. Congratulations.

Comparing the two pictures, I am just in awe of all the detailed similarities between the two. The background buildings are the same, the lady next to Milhouse is dressed EXACTLY the same as in the b&w photo, plus the positions of the other characters match up pretty close as well. It blows my mind how the Simpsons creators went to that level of detail with the small chance that the reference would even be noticed.
