U.S. Customs officers have arrested a 23-year-old woman from North Vancouver, B.C., who allegedly tried to smuggle more than $1 million worth of drugs over the border.

Krysta Edwards' vehicle was searched at the Pacific Highway border crossing on June 26, where authorities say they seized 107,734 tablets of ecstasy.

The pills, which were in the shape of popular cartoon characters from Transformers and The Simpsons, weighed approximately 60 pounds, and were found in a hidden compartment in the cargo area.

Making Homer X pills is bad. Making them in the color and shape of kids' vitamins exponentially raises the "bad" quotient. I hope this smuggler rats out the drug cookers so Fox's Lionel Hutzes can zap them for trademark infringement.

What I can't figure out is their insistence on making the pills attractive to young kids. Ecstasy traffickers are not the most ethical folks, but are they trying to hook kids, poison them, what?

Same here. If _adults_ want to destroy themselves, the government should let them. The American government already tried Prohibition and all it did was make the black-market booze traffickers rich. Even some far rightists in this country like William F Buckley, believe illegal drugs should be legalized and regulated.

There are much healthier drugs out there than "ecstasy" (whatever that may be at any given time). You're deluding yourself if you belive it is harmless, that said, you may never have a problem with it.

Check it's chemistry and subsequent research from *before* it became a popular rec drug - most published results back then was impartial and objective.

Some people say that these are actually NOT aimed at kids, that these are aimed at 20-somethings. That's why they have '80s and '90s characters on them instead of whatever the kids like these days... Naruto and Avatar or whatever.
