Halloween ep, not on Halloween

Why don't they show the new Treehouse of Horrors on Halloween (or at least a repeat of one)? They used to in the past, didn't they? Seems kinda anticlimactic, to show it on the following Sunday.

Because of the stupid World Series.

I certainly agree...last year they showed it Nov _6_, which is even worse. I think part of it has to do with the start of the TV season, but it's not like fox hasn't shown Simpsons episodes on irregular nights - I don't know what they have lined up for Halloween, but it's probably not spectacular.
