Previous episode References: None (Did not notice any) :-) Actually, did it seem as though there were quite a few from the later, not so great, seasons.

Why this is a stupid idea: There is this idea called syndication where old episodes of the Simpsons are showed on a daily basis, allowing people to watch as many as 21 or so old episodes a week. Why do we need to see a clip episode when we can see the old episodes in their entirety??? Also, All Singing-All Dancing was just a waste of time (Is there still not a capsule for it 4 years later?!?), so why do they waste their time making it???

Review: All this episode did was remind me how lousy this show has gotten since season 10. The clips were really long also (why did they even drag along?)... Could they not put in enough original material to make even a decent clip episode?!? Yeah, the writers better apologize for getting paid to produce that kind of garbage. And the irony of it all is Futurama had its season finale tonight and it was a great episode. Better than any episode of the Simpsons showed this season. Fox cancels a great show to show lousy Muppet porn and that 90's show?!? Well, I guess it is the evolution of TV.

Can you post that again please? I didn't get it the other five times.

The whole point is to use as little original material as possible so that Fox gets an entire episode as cheap as possible. The writers don't have to apologize for getting paid to make a clip show. If anyone should apologize it should be Fox for making them do clip shows. I think an F is a little harsh. As clip shows go it was pretty good, especially the song at the end and the picture of Homer jumping the shark. You shouldn't give it an F just because you don't like clip shows. You should consider that if they have to do a clip show did the storyline lend itself well to showing clips, was the new material funny, and did they use good clips?

I think that although a roast for Homer was a little far-fetched, at least it provided a reason for us to be seeing old stuff. I think the new material was ok...there were definitely some good moments like the feather and Moe as Austin Powers and the song at the end. I thought the choice of clips was pretty good and there was a mix of newer ones and older ones that we aren't as likely to have seen recently. I especially liked Maggies sentimental memories. I think as clips shows go, it could have been a lot worse. I give it a B.

I know that, but I still had to take the oppourtunity. Besides, I'm not a microsoft basher. I made a living off of microsoft for several months doing tech support for the xbox. I'm just a windows OE basher. Luckily I'm a mac user and to the surprise of many, most of the mac versions of microsoft products are better than their windows counter-parts. I use OE for email, but I still prefer netscape for news.

nope. What I THINK happened (that is my problem sometimes) was that I wrote my ng message and emails, and then tried to send them "as was the style at the time", but there was some error with MS and its mail server. Every time that it tried to send the message and failed it inadvertently created a duplicate copy in the queue so that once the thing was fixed, all the messages got sent simultaneously. It is not my news server's fault unless you could blame them for allowing anyone to send that many messages to the server (I am only seeing one copy of mine so I was hoping that it did not affect this ng... I like you guys. :-) ). Only a couple of my friends got hit by a bazillion of my messages so assuming they will take me back, but I think it was a HOTMAIL problem first and secondly a MS one for not figuring out that I was trying to send the same message and not different ones once the situation was fixed (I really dont know how the SMPT protocol works... not my forte.. but it seems logical)

Well, to keep this Simpson-esque, while at work I was thinking about when the Simpsons really "jumped the shark". I guess that would be two times. One was the second part episode to Who shot Mr Burns. After all the hoopla surrounding it, I guess I was expecting some monumentally hilarious episode. While the one that was seen was funny and still is today, I think it could just never live up to its hype.

The second time was the season finally to season 9. That season even the average viewer could tell that things were starting to get out of hand with the plot, and that the writers were treading a fine line. I think that in many ways that was one of the best seasons because they could have easily gone overboard with some of the wacky plot ideas. But they worked, and they were really funny. The handgun episode was one that really made me laugh out loud. But the episode where Homer and Marge enjoy having sex in public places was a great way out episode, and it worked. I could just tell that things were probably not going to get any better on the show. It was still sweet and innocent while at the same time as subversive as ever.
