Sorry to bother you guys again but I have another question concerning daycare. My son is almost 12 yrs old and he doesn't like his daycare. The only explanation he can give me is that he doesn't like one kid there who is younger than him by about a year and a half. This kid does tend to bully and he bites my son quite a bit. I know the staff is doing all that is possible but here's the kicker. The biter is son to one of the ladies that owns and runs the daycare. My son also feels apprehensive when the mother of the biter reprimands him for little things such as finishing his breakfast, cleaning up, etc. The other lady that runs the daycare is the grandmother of the biter. She is much stricter and what's funny is that my son likes her more than the other lady. I don't think that there's anything abusive or out of line going on at the daycare and my son can give no other reasons than the ones I outlined. He tells me that he doesn't want to go to daycare and that all he wants to do is stay home. Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks!!!!

Your son likes the grandmother because kids actually like structure (except when they don't). And, if a kid in a public school was biting other kids, he'd be out on his ass until someone figured out what the hell was wrong with him.
Biting is a health hazard. There are government agencies that oversee day care facilities. Identify your local agency, call them, and let them know there's a problem kid who needs to be isolated from other kids.
A good preschool or daycare has a biting policy (and enforces it). If they don't, find one who does!

Apparently, it's happened more than once. They may have a policy, but they need to be taught to use it. Only enforcement and embarrassment will do that.

I know some hookers who need to have this policy too!

It sounds like one of two things to me. either the mother of the biter tends to cut her son some slack and your son may not belive she will hear him out or he is looking for a reason to stay home an take care of himself. He may feel like he has out grown day care. or it may be a combanation of the two. But then I was left home at age 9. But things have changed a lot sence then.
Guys, I hate to say it, but you really really should check out a person's profile before responding to posts. :-)
