jerry lewis' audio sounded weird

jerry's audio seemed to be louder than everyone else's. and it was slightly distorted like he has too close to the microphone or something.

Yes...I completely agree...It could be possible that his parts were recorded at a location other than the main studio(?) (Maybe somewhere else with a portable recorder or different location than normal, etc.) His voice sounded almost "canned"...maybe it had a processing effect to alter it...or the processing used was different than the the other voices and, as a result, it stood out.

It seems that in recent years Jerry Lewis has been suffering with lung disease. That might explain some of your questions.
