I noticed someone mentioned that the writers of the Simpsons seem to take some ideas from the newsgroups. I'm interested in examples... other than the Comic Book Guy, which is obvious.
What ideas have been posted in the newsgroups and then subsequently appeared on The Simpsons?

No doubt scores of people with more time on their hands than I, are currently pouring over episode capsules and performing some horrendously complicated NG archive cross referencing operation. Whereas I'll just go to the pub. Who's wasting their life? Or something.

there are 2 pubs here in ireland that i know of called moes, both of which incorporate that simpsons type font over their door...and another that sells duff beer and free pizza on donuts every sunday when the simpsons is on sky one...!!!!not related to this thread at all
