Thoughts on #296 - HELTER SHELTER

Oh, man! That was as bad as "The Brady Bunch in the White House"! There was almost nothing funny in this ep. Well, maybe Bart's telegram to Moe. The one-dimensional characters were even more so than usual. The point about reality shows being unoriginal was overdone. Beating a dead horse. But maybe I am too. This gets a D-.

You're being too kind -- I'd given it an F! By far the worst episode of the season, if not the life of the show. You're dead on -- hardly anything funny. Haven't they already made enough fun of reality shows ("Touch the Stove" bit in Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade, for example)?

Thank goodness for Futurama's return next week...

For God sakes, this was the best episode in the last few seasons at least. It flowed, i laughed dozens of times, it was Simpsons humor at its best. Thats it, I ban thee from watching the show anymore, I'm watching you!

It didn't. =P I did laugh at the fact that they were kinda spoofing Frontier House (I'd kill to see a Real World/FH crossover one day, where those spoiled kids get dumped in Montana in the winter, but I digress...), but the funniest part of it all was the KoTH parody. Well, some people you just can't please. Or they won't be pleased until every single episode is a four-star affair. This undoubtedly was NOT a four- star episode, but I think it was a solid three (arguably two and a half).
