Did You Notice...

... the candy that Lisa steals from Bart is a Butterfinger? ... Bart says "Ay carumba" when he and Lisa are rolled up in the rug? ... Death's name is Doug? ... Homer knows the difference between Patty and Selma? ... Homer apparently still has his motorcycle? (I know it's a THOH, but still...) ... among the people Homer kills at the Isotopes game are Kirk Van Houten and Reverend Lovejoy? ... Lisa knows Swedish? ... Homer remembers that he was Death in the second segment? ... for someone without a penis, Frink Sr. is surprisingly sensitive in the crotch area? ... Milhouse has a change purse? ... Homer's in the process of dumping garbage on Ned's lawn when the boys stop time the second time? ... older Bart and Milhouse look like they did in "Bart to the Future" (except Bart has a goatee)? ...

Review

Tonight's episode was the best THOH in a while. It was good to see Halloween names back and the intro was funny, but Kang and Kodos seemed tacked on, and OFF killing each other was random. "Reaper Madness", while not as good as I expected, was entertaining nonetheless. The Three Stooges bit was among the funnier parts. "Reaper Madness" gets an 8/10. "Frinkenstein" also failed to live up to expectations. It went on for a bit too long and it featured an absolutely pointless celebrity cameo. The penis joke was pretty tasteless as well. There were some funny parts, including Agnes' comment to Seymour about his spine and Jerry Lewis was hilarious, but even he couldn't save this segment from a 5.5/10. "Stop the World..." definitely takes the cake this year. It surpassed my expectations by a lot and there was barely a dull moment. Bart and Milhouse's antics had me ROFL, and the Homer/Nelson scene was the best part of the whole episode, with the possible exception of "Everybody Loves Mike Scully". "Stop the World..." gets 9.5/10. THOH as a whole gets an 8/10.

^^^^^^^^ I speak swedish, but I had to rewind this passage several times before I could hear the words Lisa said. Still, not bad :). At least they didn't do a swedish chef joke. ;P

Good to know the Swedish was accurate. :)

Steve Brown:

Pretty obvious, so it shouldn't really be a DYN. Perhaps it could be a previous episode reference, though, since Milhouse's change purse is first referenced in "Large Marge."

They cross themselves in the Catholic fashion in "Gump Roast," though.

Yeah, but he appeared to have gotten rid of all of them by the award ceremony. He didn't have Mel's hair anymore, and his arms weren't Snake's or Burns' anymore. And there's nothing that proves that he ever stole a penis.

Minor film, much better known as a famous theater musical starring Anthony Newley.
