An aging character in the Simpsons?

They should introduce a new character, a young kid, maybe a baby like Maggie. But the joke being this new character ages every year, so in a few seasons time she's the same as lisa, then the next season she's in Bart's class then a few seasons later she's being pursued by all those pubescent boys (you know - the ones with the wobbly voices) finally she goes to college, starts work and so on. I think it would be quite a cool joke. Or maybe this would work better on South Park? Any thoughts?

The nearest we have got to this idea so far was Bart writing lines on the blackboard at the start saying something like

"I should not be 21 years old by now" "I should not be 21 years old by now" "I should not be 21 years old by now"

Run (don't walk) to the Fox lot and get that idea in the hot little hands of a Simpsons writer.

The haven't had an idea this good since thinking Dennis Weaver would be the greatest guest voice they ever had.

You know thats a pretty good idea, I have had an idea for a while about a cartoon sitcom that is more like a regular sitcom, in which all the characters age, and actually wear different clothes, also there would be unbelievable cartoon moments in there also. I'm not that sure how well it would work out though.

Besides, they may already have done this, in a way - somehow, Sideshow Bob went from not being a father to having a son who can walk and speak, so I presume the kid is older than Maggie.
