Worst Episode Ever? Try watching "Friends"

The next time you want to put down The Simpsons' new episode try watching a new ep of Friends or Frasier or any other popular comedy. Count your laughs and compare.

True. I don't like primetime mainstream TV programming. I haven't watched a non-Fox primetime show regularly since Cheers went off the air. Since then, the only shows I've really watched are the Simpsons, X-Files (RIP), and sports (NFL, NHL, NBA, and some MLB). I'm 30 years old, in case you're wondering, and I just don't find mainstream TV to be interesting.

I've watched an aggregate 15 minutes of Friends, an aggregate 1 hour of Seinfeld, an aggregate 10 minutes of Frasier, nothing on CBS, and nothing on ABC.

I bash the Simpsons a lot, but if this show ever went off the air, I'd pretty much have nothing to watch. I guess I could buy a multi-disc DVD player and play back episodes to make a 24/7 Simpsons channel though.

Sigh ... I still miss "Ethnic Mismatch Comedy #644." But I'm hearing good things about the upcoming #702!

Friends is a car crash of motorway pile-up proportions. It used to be reasonably good in its early days, but it's been truly abysmal and totally unwatchable for the past few seasons. The acting is incredibly poor - which is extremely odd because it never used to be - the stories are hackneyed tripe, the humour is spectacularly weak.......a wise choice to be cancelled. Frasier is virtually the same scenario although it's just incredibly boring now rather than incredibly awful as is the case with Friends, and there are none of the baffling acting problems that Friends has, just poor writing and a general feeling of extreme tiredness (this may be because Frasier was always a lot better than Friends in the first place, and so has more room to slide).

Friends is indeed awful, and probably the worst thing currently on the air, but its less painful then "Simpsons Safari". And just because something is better then something completely less shitty, doesn't mean it isn't shitty itself. If someone held a gun to your head and forced you to eat either a peice of horse manure or hazourdous waste, you'd probably choose the horse manure. But that doesn't mean they aren't both revolting.

Not really, I was just illustrating the point that just because one thing is better then the other, doesn't mean the better one is suddenly genius. People seem to think the word "better" automatically means "good" (and it can, but that's beside the point) and end up making flawed arguements as a result.

Friends has gotten too soapy, but i think Fraiser is still funny as all hell. Not as funny as the Simpsons, but Fraiser is probably #2 or #3 in my book. But Fraiser is one of those shows, you either like it, or you dont. Its either funny as all hell, or its boring to you.

Frasier also knows when it's time to go. It's ending this year, before the welcome is completely worn out.

What, are you kidding? "Frasier," after all these years, is STILL hilarious and I laugh a hell of a lot. The writers manage to keep things very interesting and VERY humorous.
