Well... as a "The Simpsons are going to ____!" episode this was OK. Full of silly gags and stuff (Kathy Ireland meta-joke, oy - though I did kind of like "Blarney Rubble"). It was shoved to the last 6 minutes but I actually kind of enjoyed the idea of how Homer and Abe rescued the pub. On the other hand, FISH FLOPPING RAKE SCENE (I actually was thinking about that a few minutes earlier when rakes were mentioned on a sign at the home and garden expo). Also, I couldn't help but think of Family Guy's "Peter's Two Dads (5ACX05)" - though aside from the setting, dad, pub, and song, the resemblance mostly ends there.
EXTRA INTRO NOTES Crow - Left to right Ralph - nothing! Barney - regular burp Sax solo - new again TV - falls off wall This episode premieres a mid-length version of the intro. It's not analogous to the common "condensed" version introduced in season 2, but rather to the "solo to driveway" shortening found occasionally since season 17.
DYN: ...Bart refers to "hoseplay" (is that meant to be a sexual joke perhaps)? ...the Hibberts are swingers? ...no problem allowing the kids (AND A BABY) in the hot tub for extended periods of time? ...turning the TV off (in the pub's back room) also seems to eject the tape? ...the word "cheated" is unobscured on Abe's list in the first act?

Other stuff -What sounds like backward messages in the Q*bert bit is not. (Compare, however, Futurama episode 3ACV18, AOI2.) -If you downloaded a copy of the episode from its Sky 1 premiere 3/17, note that its timing is off. Because the show is animated at 24 (or 12?) fps, its transfer to the 25 fps PAL system is done by just speeding up the framerate to 25, the way movies typically are done over there, and it's about a minute shorter in PAL because of that. -Is the German Krusty thing supposed to be a reference? I'm not really sure what's going on - especially since it's also with Krusty and Mel, with their own voices, properly lip-synched.

"Kiss Me I'm a Simpson" contains 9F18 (Whacking Day) 4F15 (Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment) 5F09 (Trash of the Titans) BABF12 (Pygmoelian) GABF09 (The Father, the Son, and the Holy Guest Star) KABF17 (Sex, Pies, and Idiot Scrapes).
I guess it's no worse than any other themed tape or DVD... two episodes seem to be going entirely on the Irish identities of their guest stars, and the only connection I see for BABF12 is the Irish bartender in the contest.
If anyone buys it, I would be interested to find out whether 5F09 has the Linda McCartney dedication, and if Burns says "wankers" in the credits.
