5 Tips for collecting Simpsons

I have been collecting simpsons things for about 3-4 years now and here are some tips on not wasting money and having fun finding and displaying things. Forget that "Guide To Collecting Simpsons" because it will make you spend more money than you need to.

5. Don't buy everything from one website or store, finding things are half the fun! 4. Have a friend who collects to trade with you 3. Have a shelf or two, a bureau, desk, or stand to display your finds creatively 2. Shop around for the best prices and don't buy it all in one lump sum 1. Don't get overwhelmed that you have to collect everything, having every CD or book is just as fulfilling as having everything. Just make sure not to but one of a collection(like action figures or comics) because if you do, you will have an incomplete set

I'm not into the "collecting" of merchandise specifically made to be collected. I have Simpsons 7-Eleven point-of-sale posters, employee buttons, hot dog boxes, Butterfinger wrappers, Mug Root Beer boxes, Subway restaurant bags, and other miscellani.

Well, sure you do, but that's just because you haven't cleaned off your desk in a while.

You all dont seem to understand what Lump Sum means, I mean don't buy all you see of simpsons one time at a store, its better to buy something and come back, its more fun that way.

I fail to see how this makes it more fun. I personally think it would be more fun to get them all at once, because then you get to get them all. Rather than buy one thing, and say "Oh man, I have the money to buy the rest but it's gonna be so fun to come back tomorrow and buy something else." (Cut to tomorrow) (looking sad), "D'oh, it's not here anymore. It would have been so much fun to buy it yesterday when I had the money and they had the item." But, that is just one man's opinion.

Scott Weaver, I dont think many people agree with you. Half the fun of collecting is searching and finding for things. If you had a chance to get everything you want for your collection (you would pay for it) at once, or find it all yourself, you should pick the second one.!

When it comes to the Simpson figures, I dont think you have a choice. I put off buying the Wave 4 figures for ONE day after I saw em at Sam Goody and when I came back I did t see Ralph or Willie.
