In this episode the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant was in existance since his Early childhood. Anyone else ever noticed this?

i believe when homer started working at the plant it was technically a re-opening not a grand opening.

Ah but in "Homer's Enemy" Lenny or Carl (I forget which) tell Grimey that they both have degrees (masters IIRC) but Homer doesn't, and he only got the job because he showed up the day the plant opened.
