A trailer with "DABF06" on the side overturned on the Matlock Expressway. Truckasaurus rolls its headlights, whistles, and traces a circle in the dirt with its front tire...
The DABF06 trailer will be reloaded, and its cargo will be replaced. Failing that, I'll use a cool, wet sack. I can't stress that enough, people.

The Rack's Ubiquitous, Critical, Kick-Ass, Somewhat Anal & Useless Review "Uv" the Simpsons (TRUCKASAURUS)
Episode DABF07 "The Lastest Gun In The West" Writer: John Swartzwelder
LOLs(13):
--Milhouse: Finally I'll be the dominant one.
Ralph: Be quiet.
Milhouse: Yes, sir.
--Bart: Phew! Safe at last. Now, I'll just turn around
and confirm that safety.
--Marge made a running Bart biscuit for the vicious dog
--Junior Buckaroo 2nd class... little Grampa Simpson
--Six Gun Lullaby lunchbox; shooting bandits while they
slept...
--Buck's movie: handstand on horse, shooting
--Announcer: (McTrigger) Tonight's episode--"'Scuse me...
while I kill the sky"
--Buck: Yeah... in the 70s, westerns were out and detective
shows were in. Seems like all I did was shoot hippies.
--McTrigger offs a few hippies
--We don't take kindly to transvestite chimpanzees here in
Pine Corners! [Mr. Teeny's acting job]
--Homer: My son lost his hero. This should be the greatest
night of my life. [cutting players is a coach's easiest job]
--Homer: How come I'm not happy?
Marge: You care about Bart's feelings.
Homer: Stop saying that!
--The GOLD-crazy cowboy/prospector... "GOOOLLD!"
--Buck: Good bye, Bart! Never bother me again! Yee haw!Mildly funny (The "chuckles")(18):
--Bart: Mom! A dog ate my clothes!
Marge: Nice try, but we're still going to Riverdance.
Bart: D'oh!
--Bart: "Eat my short stories!"
--Bart: These animals are stuffed! [pinch] Except that one.
--Buck: I quit after fourth grade, and I ain't not no
un-dummy SPIT!
--Buck: Most people just _mutter_ that.
--Horse pounds hoof, to get Buck to tell Bart about his film
credit
--Drinking, fighting, tripping horses with wires
--Marge: I guess you're not going to have an adventure this
week.
Homer: Heh! Just you wait!
--Look on Homer's face after Bart says "That's great, champ.
I know you've been wantin' that"
--Bart: We can have showdowns at the schoolyard, and use
NERDS as Indians!
Lisa: G'Ohhhh... [nervous necklace tug]
--Milhouse: [to Martin] Hey! You're not fun, you're fat!
--Brockman: I guess you COULD say... this barely qualifies
as news. I'm Kent Brockman.
--Krusty: I want my show to have a TIMELESS quality.
Aide: Here's your hanging chad sketch, Krusty...
Krusty: Heh heh heh... oh good. You worked in Judge Ito.
--"In case of comeback, break glass"
--Homer's "poster"
--Doc: If you walk out that door, you'll be branded a quitter
forever... (QUITTER BRAND!)
--Marge: I just naturally assumed it was some of my business.
--Buck: I'm a movie cowboy. and you're no Howard Hawks!
Homer: That HURTS!Satirical Content: --Westerns became popular during that long considered wholesome decade... the 50's. But these shows weren't any more wholesome than today's violent TV. Bart's idea is ironically like schoolyard violence today, with "showdowns" and whatnot.
First laugh (0:51): --Bart: Mom! A dog ate my clothes! Marge: Nice try, but we're still going to Riverdance. Bart: D'oh!
Laughed hardest at: --Buck: Yeah... in the 70s, westerns were out and detective shows were in. Seems like all I did was shoot hippies. --McTrigger offs a few hippies... [still laughing during this bit, and it made me laugh harder]
Un-funny jokes(1): Krusty getting shot
Unnecessary Exposition(2): --Bart: Is that horse vacuuming? (looked like it) --Bart: [after clock chimes] 5 o'clock? (you heard the bullets)
Overt Social Commentary(2): --Lisa: Gee, Buck. Your old films are as violent as today's! --Marge: I'm not sure I approve of selling whiskey to children.
Comments:
Stealing Homer's bit, there must be some hair-brained... half-assed way I can review "Lastest Gun In The West"... aha, here it is:
A dog menaces Bart. Well, it provided good conflict for a shortish Act I, though little humor in and of itself. The dog show? Dog breath on the window? Lunchlady Doris says "whatever." Homer's line "sometimes dogs or people hate you for no reason" was really good, however; I like it when Homer culls wisdom out of idiocy. The ironing is delicious.
The dog show? Hmmm... this episode had some chuckles, and some forgettable gags. It saved itself and a little more, though, with "McTrigger". I laughed harder at that sequence than at anything Simpson for a few years. Those kinds of "gags in a row", mixed with references were all over the place in the first five years of the show. It made a mediocre episode good.
Dennis Weaver's voice was funny. His delivery of the hippie line, and his gargling "yee haw" at the end were great. It compares well to Donald Sutherland's work in "Lisa the Iconoclast", with a little more "gravel" and lilt. The guy can do comedy.
The crits:
The dog show? A "most vicious" sash? Did anyone laugh at that? Will anyone remember that gag in a month? I can't imagine that being someone's favorite new Simpsons gag, anyway. </high horse>
Lisa leaving Bart to a dog attack seemed a bit harsh. Other than that, the episode dried in the desert sun... with a few puddles here and there, and an oasis in the form of a hippie joke. Not much to hang a 10-gallon hat on, or to hitch your horse to. Maybe I've been spoiled by the recent jump in quality we've had here in Season 13. Or, maybe this ol' prairie poop's got some prickly pears up his tailpipe.
--Making Milhouse cry is not a science project...
...it's a math project! Make him do long division, Bart.
--Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now?
Quite a lot of overdubs, again. It was interesting to see if characters' lips synced at all with the audio... did they re-dub any George W. Bush/Texas jokes?
Prediction:
"Lastest" won't be rewatched much; when we do see it again, it will seem new, as if we're seeing a lost episode.

DYN...
...the dog bites from the opposite side of the mail
slot one might expect? [coming from a mailman...
this hits home]
..."I ain't not no un-dummy" means "I'm a dummy"?
(ain't not = am, no un-dummy = a dummy)
...Bart calls Homer "Homer" and Marge "ma'am"? Bart
hasn't called Homer "Homer" for a while now. It's
good to hear that, again
