Oh, yeah, the trailer:

WHat does everyone think about the style of it? Not as flat as the TV show, more depth, visually speaking. What's your opinion??

The style of the animation blew me away. But you have to admit, the regular animation style was only fit for t.v. so they had to juice it up somehow.

How psyched are you for this movie? You know, I don't think I was ever as excited for a movie as I am now for the Simpsons movie. The next time I'll be this excited is only when (hoping) that a Futurama movie makes it to theatres.

I'll make it my mission to see this movie on the first day it comes out and to watch it at least 5 times. Maybe they'll do some sort of tie-in with the Simpsons Comics...hmm...yes....wonderful that would be...

visually... it looks great comically... the jokes look similar to the current episodes. how many more times will there be a Mr. Burns "release the hounds" joke?

On the note of animation, I caught the first couple of minutes of "Rosebud" earlier and realised that the animation used to be a lot snappier. Like when the millionaires pull up at Burns' house as a child, it's a very distinct *screech* and stop. These days the animation is a lot slower. Freeze frame jokes stay on for longer, stuff is just less punchy and therefore less funny. Like when Homer falls down the stairs outside of Moe's place in "Moe 'N' a Lisa", it's very slow. On the surface it seems like a crappy, unfunny gag, but stuff like that used to happen in the show all the time (Homer falling down Springfield Gorge, Homer tumbling down the stairs after Bart ala Indiana Jones, Homer slipping on Bart's skateboard and landing on his head a few times as he falls down the stairs). These are all hilarious visual gags. So why wasn't it funny in HABF19? My guess is the animation.

Although "we should exchange insurance information. I have none" was one of the best Simpsons gags I've heard in years! Haha.
