2 things (ref from last night and actors studio)

1) I was told that there is a get smart reference in last night's episode. Something like "Would you believe..." Does anyone here know what I am talking about?

2) Was anyone else weirded out by the Inside the Actors Studio last night? I watched it and felt quite uneasy seeing the voices of these humans do the characters I have known for so long. Yes, I am aware that the characters on the show had actors doing their voices, but it just seemed weird to see them in person doing all the voices on TV. Also, I guess it is funnier to some people to see them in person doing the voices.

Oh, and Yeardley Smith was quite the yawn factory. At least now we know why Lisa gets so little personality.

I think the weirdest thing was flipping between that and the new episode. After hearing them do the voices, then flipping to the show, it was kinda Twilight Zone-ish. That's not really fair. Yeardley is a comedic actress not a comedian or a naturally funny person like the others. Lisa's personality is more a product of the writing and I like her (and Yeardley) just fine.

I do wish it was a two hour show and I'd have like to have seen more about the actors and how they do their characters rather than the characters themselves, although that was very funny.

Dan and Harry should team up and do a 2 man stage act with the Simpsons characters. Fox probably wouldn't let them though.

Let's not forget that Yeardley doesn't write the material for the show...

Well, they clearly had a whole lot more material what was edited down to fit an hour spot. I noticed several times where people were cut off mid-sentence (by a cut) to move on to the next preening question posed by that no-talent dope, Lipton...

I thought Hank Azaria stole the show with Moe. No joke, I have a whole new appreciation for Moe now knowing the origin of the voice and seeing Azaria do it live and impromptu...

Marge wanted the party at the church to end, ref was when moe prepared food , said I just maid cornish game hen with (chestut I think) stuffing, then said "Would you believe a pigeon stuffed with spam? That "Inside..." was really weak. What was so "inside" about having the actors just spew funny little lines that they must have done for hundreds of other shows before? They should have made it a two hour show for more allotted time for the players, and they should have been asked questions corresponding to their unique perspective of these characters. A couple of writers(Conan?) on stage would have made it better. I'm also getting sick of Lipton's increasingly sequacious style. Dissappointing.
